Music, Movement & Me
A music program for preschool kids & their parents

Would you like to enjoy a musically-enriched experience with your child while you both make new friends? Little ones love music and play and really enjoy socializing with other children, which is why North Main Music is excited to offer a fun and unique music class for your preschooler and/or baby. Similar to "Mommy and Me" type classes, The "Music, Movement & Me" class will introduce your toddler to a wide range of musical styles (both rhythmically & tonally) and foster a love of music through movement, and exploration and play with instruments. Your toddler or baby will build rhythmic and melodic ear training skills and even improve on basic kinesthetic development. Most importantly, they’ll have a great time - and the parents often have as much fun as the kids!
Here are some of the topics your child will explore in this class:
  • Introduction of melodic & rhythmic concepts
  • Teaching kids to move to simple beats
  • Introduction of new instruments & music
  • To encourage kids to audiate, echo and perform their very own rhythmic & melodic patterns
  • To play with movement and audiation

You won’t want to miss this unique opportunity for you and your kids!

If you guessed a special place in the hearts and CD players of millions of babies and preschoolers, you're right. Like most preschoolers, your child probably already loves music and has favorite songs. This may have happened with little encouragement from you beyond simply playing music on long car trips. But did you know that your preschooler is now at an ideal age to expand his or her musical horizons and abilities?

Research shows that kids who are actively involved in music (who play it or sing it regularly):
• do better in reading and math when they start Kindergarten
• are better able to focus and control their bodies
• play better with others and have higher self-esteem
• and, most importantly, they have lots of fun!
